So I made my ribbed lace hat to match my ribbed lace bolero that I made from a pattern at ravelry.com.  I love it!  It fits really well and I used the same yarn as my bolero, Dream in Color Classy in Ruby River.  Here are a few pictures!  I improvised this design, but I might put it up later if there is any interest.

And that’s my hat!  I’ll post some bolero pics soon. . .I have to find the right outfit first.  ;)   I think I’ll try to finish up some UFO’s before I begin anything else though.

Okay, so I was browsing through Ravelry last night and I stumbled onto Kelly Maher’s Ribbed Lace Bolero.  It was so cute, I thought I would CO last night.  So I did.  I used Dream in Color’s Classy Ruby River worsted weight yarn.  I adore their yarn.  It’s so lovely and the colors are simple brilliant.  So I soared past the 2×2 rib, and floated by the first few rows of lace.  I’ve been working on it pretty much all day today, give or take a couple hours, and I’ll be working on it for a bit longer.  It’s absolutely fun and easy!  Here are a few pictures.

Bolero

This is the latest picture.  It’s at about 9 inches including the ribbing.  I have to get to 20.5 before I can start the top of the ribbing.  It shouldn’t take too long.  More pics to come when it gets closer to the finish line!

So on Saturday, it was such a gorgeous day out, Matt and I decided to go to the park.  I took my Ashford with me.  And some roving.  It was a great day!  It was a little chilly, but the sun kept us warm enough to bear the chill for an hour or so.  Here’s a few pictures.

I also finished my fair isle hat!  It’s a just a tiny bit too small, but it fits without falling off.  It was made with Ultra Alpaca which is lovely to the touch, however it is very very fine and maybe a little too slippery.

All in all it turned out well.  And I have to brag about the new yarn that I got today.  It’s from Dream in Color.  One skein of Smooshy sock yarn, and one skein of Baby lace weight.  Mmm, can’t wait to dig into this!

Baby

That was Baby and this next one is Smooshy.

The colors may be a bit off because the lighting at the table wasn’t all that great.  But they are beautiful still.  That’s all for now.  More to come!
