So, September is here and it brings with it lots of work! Not only have classes started at the sewing store, but I am in charge of sending out the newsletters, class schedules, scheduling classes, arranging meetings with teachers, and doing every thing that I can to promote the classes. They are doing pretty well so far. I’m also trying to frantically put together one of my class samples. It’s going to turn out spectacular I’m hoping. I’ll post pictures of the finished project soon. For now, I have some home spun eye candy for you to enjoy, as well as an original table runner kre8tion. So kick back and enjoy. 
My Table Runner Kre8tion
So for this table runner, it all started when Matt said, “I forgot my friend’s birthday. . .” So I chimed in and said, “Well, I could make her a table runner. Which fabrics do you think she would like?” Pointing to my stash. And Voila, here is what I came up with off the top of my head. From conception to binding, it took me probably a total of four hours to complete. I decided to throw the squares ‘wonky’ because with only three fabrics, I thought it needed some more visual interest. So, what do you think? 
My slow but sure 1st sweater.
So those of you who have been following for a while, you may have read my talking about my Wicked sweater. I am still working on the top! But I’m closer than I was when I started. I haven’t quite reached the armholes yet, but about 25 more rounds or so, and I can try it on to see where it falls. I’m doing the short sleeved version with a pocket, if I have enough yarn in this colorway. . . (Sorry to those who don’t have a Ravelry account to view the Wicked pattern, you should get on the waiting list. It’s worth it.)

And my second project currently in my knitting satchel. This is a basic lace shawl made starting in the center and working my way out. Can’t wait to see how it turns out as it grows, and I had to use my Dream in Color baby weight yarn, so I decided I would jump into some lace work.
5 Homespun Merino Skeins
I have been busy spinning up my roving every chance I get. This was some Merino that I had laying around. Gorgeous stuff! Mmm! Hopefully I will be able to dye it soon, and you can betcha that I’ll post that!

Roving from the Oregon State Fair
So when Matt and I went to the Oregon State Fair this year, I couldn’t help but go into the Artisan’s Village and stumble across the Spinning booth. I of course spotted the fiber first and pounced!

They had way too many colors to choose from, so I bought two instead of one. Though the other colors were to dye for, (spelling intentional ) I could only get two and I was on a budget, so these will satisfy my color needs just fine.

Piece de Resistance
And finally, the Piece de Resistance, my sewing room! I’ve updated it a bit, so here it is! I’m so inspired to be in here and work now, and I even have a place to set up my laptop, so hopefully I can blog more.

So the past few weeks have been really crazy. My boyfriend and I have just moved into an apt and we’ve been really busy trying to get everything packed and moved. We’re just about all set up now. We have internet access anyway, and that’s the most important! So anyway, here’s a sneak peak at my new home.

I’ve been practicing on my beading as well with these “One of a Kind” stitch markers. . .
And here is my Noro Stash that I am making my Entrelac Shawl with. It called for 15 skeins, I have about 2 3/4 skeins in it so far. . .don’t think I’m going to use all 15.
And so that’s what I have been up to lately. I have also started a wonderful sock pattern from Ravelry out of Happy Feet. It’s so gorgeous and fun to knit! I can’t wait to get these ones done! Not much to report on the spinning front, though I will be going to another fiber sale on the 19th! More fiber posts to come, I promise!
So, I went to a Fiber Sale in Oregon City on Saturday, and got LOTS of goodies! I can’t wait to get them all spun up! Here’s a taste of what I got, more pictures will be available to view at my spinning group’s blog, Spinning in Circles.

These are some Targhee wool locks that I got off of Whimzypinzy.etsy.com. Very nice, it will be spun in the grease, but it should be a fun experience!
This is Coopworth wool, I’ve spun just about half. There was 8 oz, so I’m guessing the skein in this photo will be about 4 oz. Not sure what to do with this one yet, I was thinking of a shawl. It has some VM in it still, and bits of hay and grass, but I should be able to pick it out as I knit.
This blend is 2/3 Shetland wool and 1/3 Merino wool, and OMG it is soooo soft! It’s absolute heaven to the touch and I can’t wait to see how it spins up. There are 8 oz per bag that I got for $8.50. This color way is Amethyst and the other colorway is Sea Mist which is a lovely heathery green.
And then there was a fantastic booth from Estacada that I got some gorgeous lamb locks from. 1 oz for $1, not too bad for dyed lamb locks. I was thinking about coming the colors together. This booth also had really great reference books about different sheep breeds, and it came with actual locks from each breed! My friend picked up each of the 4 volumes. Can’t wait to study those!
I have also finished my Ribbed Lace Bolero! It’s really cute, but it has to be worn with just the right thing, or it might look a bit funny. So this summer when I have a cute outfit to sport it on, I’ll post some pics. I am working on a matching ribbed lace hat to match out of the left over yarn, so I’ll be posting that soon!
I have been frequenting the ‘ol spinning wheel quite a bit the last few days. Ever since our first spinning group met on Saturday the 23rd, I can’t seem to get spinning off the brain. I have two and a half skeins ready to be dyed, one and a half bobbins full of beautiful pre-dyed roving, and two skeins waiting to be liberated from their coils and knit into something fab. I have knit up one of my very first navajo plyed skeins up though. Their new body is a pair of fingerless mits. So pretty. So far, all I have spun with is Merino and Corriedale. The Merino is in the fingerless mits, as well as the two dyed skeins, and the corriedale are the two blank skeins and the pre dyed roving. Well, enough of the talk, time for pictures.
These are my fingerless gloves. They will be first since they are made from the oldest of the skeins.
And next comes the sister skein of the mits. I spun and dyed this lot at the same time, but the colors are more vibrant because they got more time in the cooker.
And now for the Kool Aid dyed skein. It’s done in Cherry, only one pack, however if I had it to do over, I would definately use two for a brighter color.
Onto the undyed Skeins. Lovely pure yarn. I’m still trying to get the hang of spinning smaller, but these are definately getting close.

We had our spinning group get together today, our first meeting! It was a blast! There was fiber flying everywhere! Here are some pictures of our wonderous adventures.
And here’s a closeup of some yarn that I spun today. It was predyed roving from Pacific Wool and Fiber, Corriedale, Spinner’s Choice.
