Well, I participated in the first ever Craft-In at the Drive-In Craft Fair, unfortunately for me, it wasn’t too great. The show was a lot of fun, and there were some awesome vendors, but I think some of my products were a little too specific. Everyone that came by the booth kept picking up my roving and asking, “Oh, is this yarn?” ^_^ I politely replied, “No, but you can turn it into yarn.” They expressed how they could never be able to do that, and set it down and walked away. ~_~ But, that doesn’t mean that if I have the right audience, I can’t do another show! So bring on the Fiber Fairs!
Anyways, here are some pictures of the show. My boyfriend did a great job with the photos, as usual! ^_^ If you see any items that you absolutely can’t live without, check out these shops to find them! Melissa’s Kre8tions and Spinning Sisters

Wow! So much to catch up on! I really would like to start taking better care of my blog. It really is a huge part of what I want to be doing and it’s a great tool to utilize while I can. There have been many, many crazy things going on right now, and among them was my very first Craft Show! ^_^
Here are a few of the highlights and downfalls. . . Highlight number one, it was my first one and I thought I was as prepared as I could be, aside from a lack of tables and displays. Downfalls. . . I only sold two items, to a relative, which covered my booth cost, the soap that I bought from my neighboring booth, and I only made it out of the show with ten dollars in my pocket. Hey, at least I left with money, right? ^_^ So here are a few pictures to show, I hope you enjoy them.
Oh, by the way, if you are in Oregon, I will be at the Craft-In on 99W in Newberg selling my hand sewn items along with some hand dyed roving. Say hi, won’t you? ^_^

So, September is here and it brings with it lots of work! Not only have classes started at the sewing store, but I am in charge of sending out the newsletters, class schedules, scheduling classes, arranging meetings with teachers, and doing every thing that I can to promote the classes. They are doing pretty well so far. I’m also trying to frantically put together one of my class samples. It’s going to turn out spectacular I’m hoping. I’ll post pictures of the finished project soon. For now, I have some home spun eye candy for you to enjoy, as well as an original table runner kre8tion. So kick back and enjoy.
So for this table runner, it all started when Matt said, “I forgot my friend’s birthday. . .” So I chimed in and said, “Well, I could make her a table runner. Which fabrics do you think she would like?” Pointing to my stash. And Voila, here is what I came up with off the top of my head. From conception to binding, it took me probably a total of four hours to complete. I decided to throw the squares ‘wonky’ because with only three fabrics, I thought it needed some more visual interest. So, what do you think?
So those of you who have been following for a while, you may have read my talking about my Wicked sweater. I am still working on the top! But I’m closer than I was when I started. I haven’t quite reached the armholes yet, but about 25 more rounds or so, and I can try it on to see where it falls. I’m doing the short sleeved version with a pocket, if I have enough yarn in this colorway. . . (Sorry to those who don’t have a Ravelry account to view the Wicked pattern, you should get on the waiting list. It’s worth it.)
Wow. . .it has been a long day. There is nothing better than a day out with the girls, the wind in our hair, and our fiber falling out of the trunk of the car. My spinning group went to Aurora today to visit the Fibre Sale that was going on, and boy did we find some finds.
We started by walking around, searching high and low for good deals. We walked the whole floor before any money was exchanged, though there were mental lists forming. The first of my purchases was at a wonderful and colorful booth.
Sue and I found a wonderful deal! We found a 5 lb ?Romney? fleece for $20! So we split the cost, and will go through the process of washing/carding/and spinning it soon.
Mo found a spinning wheel that she left with. It’s going to be a great wheel for her to ply long lengths of yarn onto.
We completely filled the car to the brim! It was so squished by the time we left, we barely all fit!
But we did have to make a stop at Pacific Wool and Fiber in Dundee, and they were actually open this time! So many times we have stopped during their business hours and they have been closed. But we found some great fibers.
As soon as we got back to town, we unloaded the car. It was so full, things were bursting out!
So we went up to the third floor of the Boersma’s building and set up camp. Everyone had their wheels out, and we finally got Maria on her feet. She was so excited, as were we all!
And so, that brings this adventure to a close. Until next time, and next post, Au Revoir!
